Work in this area includes developing new and innovative projects that encourage a transfer of Welsh within the family.
Our work in encouraging the transmission of welsh in the family is one of our most important areas. Statistics from the 2011 Census show us that the transmission rate in Anglesey for paired households, where both adults could speak Welsh, has increased from 79% in 2001 to 80.1% in 2011, but the rate for paired households, where one adult could speak Welsh has reduced from 49.1% in 2001 to 47.5% in 2011.
We operate across the Island by planning and carrying out activities that raise confidence and improve parents’ language skills. We organise and run tours and activities for families from all language backgrounds during the day, on pens, evenings and during school holidays.

- Awareness Iaith Meithrinfeydd – awareness sessions for staff of private nurseries to improve their understanding of Welsh, influence practice and provide advice about the benefits of passing on the Welsh language to the children in their care. We also share information about provisions and resources available in Welsh. In this area, too, we promote the economic benefits of the Welsh language
