Situation of the Welsh language in Conwy County<\/h2>\n

The 2021 Census shows that 25.9%<\/strong> of the population of Conwy County can speak Welsh – this is higher than the percentage of the population of Wales which is 17.8%. Although, the percentage of Welsh speakers has declined 1.4% since the last Census in 2011.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It must be remembered that the strength of the Welsh language also varies from area to area – the biggest difference in Conwy County is the difference between rural Conwy and the Waterfront area.<\/p>\n
